There are approximately 31501 pre-paid electricity meters installed around Moqhaka Local Municipality, and these meters are installed in Kroonstad, Maokeng, Brentpark, Viljoenskroon, Rammolutsi, and Steynsrus. Matlwangtlwang is 100% Eskom pre-paid electricity meters area, some of the pre-paid meters in Rammolutsi are installed by Eskom. The meters are installed as follows:

Load shedding (loadshedding) is a way to distribute demand for electrical power across multiple power sources. Load shedding is used to relieve stress on a primary energy source when the demand for electricity is greater than the primary power source can supply.
